TwinBeta

Digital twin · local-first

Everything you say becomes a twin that works for you today — and stays for them tomorrow.

TwinBeta turns your voice into a private, encrypted archive that compounds: a productivity clone while you’re here, and a way for the people you love to hear you after you’re not.

Four things it does

One archive, four jobs. Each makes the next one better, because they all feed the same corpus.

Clone

Work at the speed you think

Dictate anywhere, transcribe anything, and ask your own history what you decided. Every word you capture makes the twin more you.

Capture

Moments, not just documents

Stories, advice, the ordinary texture of a day. Guided interviews fill the gaps deliberately instead of hoping you remember to write it down.

Companion

Think out loud, with yourself

Reflect, plan, and look back across years of your own words. It knows your history because it is your history.

Legacy

Still here, honestly

The people you choose can talk to your twin — in your voice, from your words. Consented while you live, never assumed after.

A twin that tells you what it knows

Most of the hard problem isn’t making a model sound like you. It’s being honest about when it’s quoting you and when it’s guessing. Every answer carries its truth-level, and the label can’t be turned off.

Verbatim

Something you actually said. Cited, and played back as the original recording — not a re-reading.

Grounded

Synthesized from real captures, with a citation for every claim you can follow back to the moment.

Reconstruction

Extrapolated in your style to fill a gap. Always labeled as such. Never dressed up as memory.

A twin that invents a position you never held isn’t a feature. It’s a forgery. So we let it fill gaps — and we never let it pretend it didn’t.

The part we won’t trade

The only twin worth telling the truth to is one that can’t leak. These are architectural commitments, not preferences.

  • Local-first by default. Capture, cleanup, search and answers run on your device where the hardware allows. Cloud is opt-in, and always visible.
  • Encrypted so we can’t read it. Your corpus is sealed under a key derived for you alone. Not a policy — an architecture.
  • Never trained on. Your words never train a shared model, are never sold, and never become an ad.
  • Consent before voice. Voice cloning and legacy access require your explicit, revocable permission, recorded while you’re here to give it.

Where we are

TwinBeta is being built in the open against a published plan. The capture engine already works: on-device transcription, running privately, proven on real audio.

Currently in foundation

The Rust capture engine is done and passing its accuracy gate. The encrypted corpus — the spine everything else hangs off — is next, before any of the twin features are built on top of it. We’re doing the boring order on purpose.
